Saudi Crown Prince MBS Meets Macron as Iran War Disrupts Global Energy Routes
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is conducting a two-day state visit to France to meet with President Emmanuel Macron to discuss regional security, energy diversification, and economic partnerships. Key topics include addressing energy disruptions caused by the ongoing US-Israeli war with Iran—specifically developing alternative oil routes to the Strait of Hormuz—as well as the situation in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon. The leaders are signing major agreements across energy, transport, and health, while also considering a massive "Disneyland-scale" Dragon Ball-themed amusement park in Île-de-France. This meeting builds on the 2024 Saudi-French Strategic Partnership Council and marks MBS's first foreign trip since signing the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement with Turkey and Pakistan.
